We are trying to get enough money in a perpetual
care fund to take care of the cemeteries. We presently have $30,000 in
such a fund. We are trying to get another $20,000 in this fund, so the
interest will take care of the mowing and upkeep of the cemeteries in the
future. We presently have about $13,285.48 toward this goal.
We need nursery workers to help keep the nursery
and children's church teachers during the Morning Worship Service in 2008.
There must be one adult over 18 years of age present at all times in the
nursery and children's church. If you can help with either of these
programs please sign the appropriate lists on the credenza in the vestibule.
The more we get to sign up the less often you will b asked to stay in the
nursery or teach children's church.
During the winter months we will be having
recreation nights in our Fellowship Hall on Tuesday and Thursday nights from
7 to 9 p.m.
Our Vacation Bible School is
scheduled for June 2-6. The Taylor county Association
will have a Bible School Training Session on Monday, May 5th, at Lowell
Avenue Baptist Church from 6:30 p.m. to 9 p.m. If you would like to go
to this be here at the church by 6 pm or go directly to Lowell Avenue
Baptist Church in Campbellsville. We are still in need of workers.
Please let Joan know if you are able to help.
On Sunday, May 11th, we will celebrate
Mother's Day! All the women and girls are invited to come a little early for
Sunday School and enjoy some food and fellowship in the Fellowship Hall.
We will begin serving at 9:15 am. In the Morning Worship Service we
will recognize all of our mothers. Special recognition will be given to the
oldest mother, youngest mother and the mother with the most children
present. Give your mother a great gift by attending church with her.
On Sunday, May 18th, following the Morning
Worship Service, the mission team will have a meal in the Fellowship Hall.
There is no charge for the meal but donations will be received to help with
the expenses of the mission trip to Gulfport, Mississippi this summer.
