What’s Been Happening at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church?

113 packed Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes were prayed over during the November 20th Morning Worship Service. We had our annual Truck N Treat event on Friday, October 28th, from 6-8:00 p.m. The youth hosted a chili supper with donations accepted ($532.26 was received). t We had a Special Called Business Meeting this Sunday, October 2nd, during the Morning Worship Service. We discussed the results of the roof inspection related to the storm damage of the church and parsonage roofs. Details were presented regarding the costs involved to replace the roofs and a motion was made by the trustees and deacons to add insulation at an addition cost of $9,900 beyond the $100,000 the insurance will cover. A vote was taken with 117 yes and 0 no votes. The senior adults enjoyed a fun event at “Wanda Buckler’s Barn” for lunch and a fun time of fellowship afterwards on October 12, 2022 at noon. It was their first “Senior Adult Activity” in over two years and they were so excited to get back together! We enjoyed a hayride and chili cookoff on Sunday, October 2nd. The hayride took off at 5:00 p.m. and the cookoff was at 6:15 p.m. Some fall-themed fun and games were enjoyed after the hayride and meal. The cookoff winner was Mark Carney with Jean Peterson runner up. We had a great “Hope Happens Here” Tent Revival last month. We had a fellowship potluck meal on Sunday, September 25th. We met to worship at 10:30 a.m. outside under the tent. Then, immediately after the service, we enjoyed a “potluck” fellowship meal. The church furnished the meat, bread, and drinks. There were wagons lined up so it was just like back in the “good ol’ days”! It was a great time of good food and fellowship! We had a great “Hope Happens Here” Tent Revival this past week with multiple decisions made and 4 baptisms. Praise the Lord! Thank you to our revival speakers: Steve Skaggs, James Jones, Dan Durham, Christian Naylor and Kenny Rager. Thank you to Jamie Lawrence, Kathy Snow, Kentucky Heart, Donna, and all those that shared their musical talent. Praise the Lord for the following baptisms on September 18, 2022 during our "Hope Happens Here" Tent Revival: Allie Beard, DeLane Beard, Jelsie Benningfield, and Jeremy Bagwell Praise the Lord for the following decisions during our "Hope Happens Here" Tent Revival Service on September 18, 2022: Jordan Hinton – Moved his membership to MHBC by letter. Grant McQueary - Moved his membership to MHBC by letter Jeremy Bagwell - Praise the Lord as he made a Profession of Faith decision this morning, September 18, 2022, in our first tent revival service. Congratulations to Jon and Kelsey Livers upon the birth of their daughter, Daisie Elizabeth Livers, on September 9, 2022 at 1:39 p.m. She weighed 7 pounds, 6.9 ounces. Congratulations also to the proud grandparents, Don and Beth Veatch; David and Stacy LIvers. Praise the Lord for the decisions made on August 28, 2022 during Worship Service: Allie Beard - She made public her Profession of Faith Decision and wishes to be baptized at MHBC. Allie gave her testimony this morning and is very appreciative of Bro. Billy's guidance and everyone else that has prayed for her during and after her addiction and continues to pray for her. DeLane Beard (Allie's mother) - She is already a believer but now desires to be baptized. Jelsie Benningfield - She made public her Profession of Faith decision and desires baptism. Brooke Houk - She wishes to move her letter to MHBC. Josh Houk - He wishes to move his letter to MHBC. Jacquelyn Hardy - She wishes to move her membership to MHBC. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Chris Leon Brady upon his death on August 25, 2022 at the age of 53. Bosley Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. He was Cassie Brady’s son. How exciting! Worship Choir resumed on August 21st! There was a Wedding Shower for Drew Benningfield & Danielle Sublett on August 21, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall. The couple is registered at Walmart and Amazon. Jonathan Livers made public his Profession of Faith decision on August 21, 2022 in worship service. He will be baptized at a later date. Cassie Brady moved her membership to MHBC durng the Morning Worship Service on August 14, 2022. There was a 50th wedding anniversary reception for David & Melody Mays in the Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church Fellowship Hall on Sunday, August 14th, from 2:00 - 4:00 p.m. Drew Benningfield was baptized on August 7, 2022 during the Morning Worship Service. There was a baby shower on August 7, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. in the MHBC Fellowship Hall for Kelsey and Jon Livers and baby Daisie. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Charles William Moore upon his death at the age of 87 on August 3, 2022. He was Larry Moore’s father, Tom Moore’s brother, and a United States military veteran. A vote was taken in a Special Called Business Meeting on July 24, 2022 during the Morning Worship Service for the following motion: "The Personnel Committee recommends for the Director of Children's Ministry, the following two names for a Co-Director position, Tiffany Underwood and Josh Veatch at a salary of $6,000.00 each." She was Kyle Smith’s grandmother. We had a great Vacation Bible School June 20-23, 2022 from 6-8:30 P.M. with family night on Friday evening, June 24th. The enrollment was 126 with an average attendance of 115 with a mission offering of $2,800.00 for the week. Praise the Lord! Praise the Lord for these decisions during the Morning Worship Service on June 12, 2022: Genell Newton – She made a public decision to move her letter back to MHBC. She shared that she professed faith as a Christian at MHBC when she was 9 years old. Ashton Graham – He made public his Profession of Faith Decision and will be baptized on Father’s Day next Sunday. The trustees of MHBC accepted 8 sealed bids on the zero turn Dixie Chopper mower owned by the church. The winning bid to Tom Moore for $2,600 was announced at the Monthly Business Meeting on June 8, 2022. All youth & their parents were invited to enjoy refreshments & for a time of fellowship with their new Minister of Youth Cameron Edwards Sunday evening, June 5th. Congratulations to Nick and Micheala Wilson upon their Profession of Faith decisions on June 5, 2022 in the Morning Worship Service. They will be baptized on Father's Day along with Jody Shively. Welcome to the following new members as they joined MHBC in the worship service on May 29, 2022 during the Morning Worship Service: Joey Holtzclaw, Lisa Holtzclaw, Mark Holtzclaw, Kathy Snow, and Eddie Snow. All 2022 graduates were recognized during the morning worship service on Sunday, May 22nd. They were each presented with a gift card and a book by Bro. Billy. They enjoyed lunch with Bro. Billy & Sue Ann afterward hosted by Wanda Buckler at her lodge! The graduates recognized were: Jacob Benningfield, Mallory Hamilton, Avery Cochran, MacKenzie Carney, and Grant McQueary. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Dorothy Jean Farris upon her death on May 16, 2022 at the age of 93. She was the mother of Mark Farris, Joy Farris McCubbin, and Susan Farris Hood. Bosley Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. The MHBC Vision 24 Renovation Committee presented two options for new pew upholstery. The church members voted for their preferred option during the Morning Worship Service on May 15, 2022. Sample A received 49 votes and Sample B received 41 votes. The first service was at 4:30 P.M. with 96 in attendance. The second was at 6:00 P.M. with 93 in attendance. The Lord’s Supper was observed along with candle light and singing of Silent Night. Everyonone enjoyed a time of fellowship as we celebrated the true meaning of Christmas. On December 19th, during the morning worship service, we collected our White Christmas Offering. A total of $25,057.69 was collected for general and designated funds. Thank you for your generous giving. The Young at Heart Sunday School Class and the coordinators of Brookhaven Ministry would like to thank you for your generous love offering taken up on Sunday, December 5th. This offering will be for approximately 10 Brookhaven families in need by providing food for each family, coats and Christmas gifts for the children.
