L. E. Whitlow

(Pastor of MHBC from 1932 - 1938) L. E. Whitlow was born February 6, 1880, near Eve in Hart County, Kentucky to George Whitfield and Mary Susan Whitlow. He has four brothers and four sisters. He is married to Effie Whitlow (her maiden name was also Whitlow) and they have one daughter, Vivian. He graduated from high school and had three terms of Bible School. He professed faith in Christ in 1899. He was a farmer before entering the ministry and stated that he was called several years before he surrendered to the call, and was ordained in 1921 at Hodgensville, Ky. He served as pastor of eighteen churches, all but two were for quarter and halftime. Bro. Whitlow offered his resignation in January and left the field February 6, 1938.
