August 15, 2018: Melody Mays reported on their monthly Brookhaven visit. “MHBC finally got back to Brookhaven tonight.  Fed them pizza and brownies/ice cream. Beth Osborne did the lesson.  Mr. Dennis was there to drive the van for us.  We had approximately 10-12 children. One Mom was there with a 19 month old little boy.  We had Davette Mattingly & Kacy; Beth Osborne with Aubri & Lexi; and Melody Mays” Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Catherine Rice Carney upon her death on August 10, 2018 at the age of 91. Grissom-Martin Funeral Home in charge of details. She was the grandmother of Mark Carney. Congratulations to Taylor Marie Nelson and Jody Shively (Mr. and Mrs. Jody Shively) upon their marriage on August 10, 2018.  The “Golden Days” Group met on Thursday, August 9, 2018 at 12 noon in the fellowship hall for a potluck meal with the meat provided. The group enjoyed a time of playing Bingo. Each person playing brought three (3) one-dollar wrapped items for prizes. There was lots of fun and fellowship. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mary Catherine Adams upon her death on August 2, 2018 at the age of 88. Bosley Funeral Home is in charge of the details. She was the grandmother of Tony Yocum. Bro. Billy Compton is the new pastor of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church as of August 1, 2018.  He was officially installed in a special ceremony during the Morning Worship Service on August 5, 2018. David England, Chairman of the Pastor Search “Pulpit” Committee (click for details) made an introduction of the process and referenced the passage of scripture from  1 Timothy 3:1-7. Bro. Rusty Ellison, Transitional Pastor of Campbellsville Baptist Church and friend of Bro. Billy’s, delivered a special message, detailing their special friendship over the years. Bro. Billy, Bro. Rusty, and the congregation sang in acapella, “I Stand Amazed in the Presence”.  Mark Carney, Chairman of the Deacons, performed the installation by delivering the “Charge to the Pastor and the Church”.  Other active deacons present were:  Larry Bright, Josh Veatch, Sam Graham, and Jim Sabo, Jr. Trent Pyles was unable to attend. Bro. Billy then delivered the message, “Why Am I Here?” from Acts 10. (Pictures to be posted later) Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Ronnie Benningfield upon his death on August 5, 2018 at the age of 77. Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in charge of details. He was the husband of JoAnn; father of Mike Benningfield and Lea Ann Moore. The Annual Senior Adult Meal hosted by the Deacons (active and inactive) was held in the Fellowship Hall on August 4, 2018 beginning at 6:00  p.m. Special entertainment was provided after the meal. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Derek Davis upon his unexpected death on July 23, 2018. He was a step-grandson of Margaret Pyles. Schoppenhorst Underwood & Brooks Funeral Home, Shepherdsville, Ky in charge of details. Visitation: July 29, 2018 from 1:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral: July 30, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. A Special Called Business Meeting was held on July 22, 2018 during the Morning Worship Service. Mark Carney served as Moderator. The church members present were asked to stand and they were each given a ballot by members of the Pastor Search “Pulpit” Committee. Once their ballots were completed the ballots were collected by the committee and taken to be tallied. After the service, the results of the vote were reported by Mark Carney. There was an overwhelming 99.2% (120 yes; 1 no) affirmative “yes” vote to call Bro. Billy Compton as the next pastor of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church! Bro. Billy accepted the call after the announcement of the vote was made. Bro. Billy and Sue Ann expressed their desire to move their membership to Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. The congregation filed by after the service to welcome them as members and to congratulate/welcome Bro. Billy as the new Pastor. (See Pictures)

Sidney Cox made public her Profession of Faith Decision and Lidiane Macedo made the decision to move her membership

from her home church in Brazil during the Morning Worship Service at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church on July 15, 2018.  Sidney’s

husband (Jesse), her children (Allie, Bailey, and Clare), and her Mother and Father-in-law (Betty and Roger Cox) stood at her side

as members of the congregation filed by to congratulate her on this important decision and to welcome her and Lidiane as new

members of Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church. Sidney’s baptism will be scheduled for a later date. What a glorious day in our

Karli Veatch made public her Profession of Faith Decision during the Morning Worship Service at Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church

on July 8, 2018. Karli’s father and mother, Josh and Jessica, along with her Nana, Ann Lee, stood at her side as members of the

congregation filed by to congratulate her on this important decision. Her baptism will be scheduled for a later date. (See

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Mary Frances Skaggs upon her death on July 1, 2018 at the age of 78. She was the Aunt of Anita Lanham, Nettie Brown, and Tommy Farmer. Visitation: July 4, 2018 beginning at 5:00 p.m. Funeral: July 5, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. Tucker Funeral Home in Central City, Ky in charge of details. MHBC had a great night out as a church family at the Evening Worship Service and Baptism of McKenzie Bagwell and surprise birthday party for Bro. Billy on July 1, 2018 on the farm of Donnie Veatch.  It was estimated around 90 were in attendance. Thank you Donnie and Josh Veatch families for the use of their farm and their preparation in getting everything ready for the event (Josh said it took a week of weed eating). Bro. Billy said that he was truly surprised! A great night of fellowship with our church family! Thank you to Jennifer Bland and Mckenzie Hardin for the pictures of the event. Christopher Morrison made public his decision to move his membership to Muldraugh Hill Baptist Church during the Morning Worship Service on July 1, 2018. Christopher’s wife, Andrea, and his children, Abby and Jase, stood at his side as members of the congregation filed by to welcome him to the church family. (See Pictures)
